Welcome to our charity, where we manage the Elizabeth Fry House – a Ministry of Justice approved premises for women in Reading.

With 24 beds available, our Approved Premises serves as a crucial haven for women transitioning from prison, who are assessed as posing a medium to very high risk of causing serious harm to others.

A placement at Elizabeth Fry House offers more than just accommodation; it provides a comprehensive support system. We are dedicated to helping women rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society successfully.

Our structured regime of interventions includes both group sessions and one-to-one support. These initiatives are designed to help residents confront the underlying issues that led to their previous offending and empower them to initiate positive changes in their lives.

We are committed to making a difference in the lives of women by providing a safe space and giving them the tools and support they need to build a better future.

Our Programme

Residents at the Approved Premises have access to a range of purposeful activities aimed to support them to address issues that led to their offending and to develop the skills for them to lead an offending-free life in future.

Outreach Services

We believe that transitions are important and the support a woman receives from Elizabeth Fry House should not stop once they move on.

Information for Referrers

We consider women convicted of all types of offences and will offer a placement having considered whether the risk of serious harm to self and others can be managed at Elizabeth Fry House.
